It's wild. Back when we were relatively young, I didnt know any Amirs. I think, in junior high school, four of my best friends were named 'Bob'. My dad was another Bob. There was ONE jewish kid in my high school - Seymour. Because there was only one, it was impossible to be prejudiced. If there were ten or fifteen jews, sure - but one? He was just an outlier. Sally and I will go to pick up the grandkids every now and then, and we go to school events, and flag football games, and that kind of thing. There are some Jaydens, a few Coopers, more Carters, and even more Amirs. They have an Amir who lives across the street from them. I pray to the god I don't believe in that all of them have some kind of happy future. Prayer is about the only recourse I have left.
